The Wenner-Gren Foundation established SAPIENS, an editorially independent online publication, to popularize and publicize anthropological research to an international audience. The publication’s goals are to serve as an authoritative source of information about anthropological research, make anthropology more accessible to the general public, and demonstrate anthropology’s relevance to everyday life. Through news coverage, features, commentaries, reviews, and more, SAPIENS provides a public platform for anthropological research as well as for anthropological insights into current affairs. SAPIENS features writing by expert anthropologists and journalist contributors across all fields of anthropology—archaeology, biological/physical, linguistic, and socio-cultural anthropology.

For more information about SAPIENS, please watch this video or visit us at and also check out our guidelines to learn how you can contribute.
