The Wenner-Gren Foundation is the sponsor of Current Anthropology, an international journal of general anthropology. Since its inception in 1960, Current Anthropology has been the major scholarly periodical in anthropology addressed to a worldwide audience in all branches of the field. It publishes articles, reports, interviews, book reviews, and discussion and commentary, and it serves as an informational clearing house for international anthropology. Major articles appear with "CA treatment," the simultaneous publication of multiple commentaries along with the author's reply, providing a forum for discussion and debate. The CA readership participates in editorial policy through the mechanism of an informal body of professional Associates, numbering over 2,000 from more than 100 countries.
