The Wenner-Gren Foundation is pleased to announce that it will be sponsoring different events at this year's American Anthropological Meeting (Nov.19th to Nov 23rd) in San Francisco.

How to Write a Successful Grant Proposal: Wenner-Gren Foundation and the National Science Foundation

Both Wenner-Gren Foundation and the National Science Foundation will be present at this workshop to discuss their different grants and give you advice and tips on how to make sure your grant proposal is as good as it deserves to be. To attend this workshop pre-registration through the AAA website is required.

AAA Presidential Session: Anthropology Put to Work: A Wenner-Gren International Forum

As a follow-up to the Wenner-Gren International Symposium Volume “Anthropology Put to Work” (Berg Press, 2007), the Foundation has sponsored this International Forum which brings together scholars to discuss how anthropology has been changing over the past decades and examine the forces from inside and outside of the discipline that are restructuring the way we do anthropology today, challenging any simple dichotomies between applied and basic research. The discussion is organized to look at the experience in different parts of the world with papers from Kirsten Hastrup (Denmark), Andrew Spiegel (South Africa); Joe Watkins (USA); Amrit Srinivasan (India) and Esteban Kro
