aWe are pleased to present a trailer and abstract for Dr. Harjant Gill who received a Fejos Postdoctoral Fellowship to aid filmmaking on Sent Away Boys.

Sent Away Boys will be making its U.S. premier this November at the Society for Visual Anthropology’s Film Festival at the AAA meetings in Minneapolis, MN.

Screening will be followed by Q & A with Harjant Gill.

aMaurice Rafael Magana is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at The University of Arizona. In 2010 while a doctoral student at the University of Oregon he received a Dissertation Fieldwork Grant to aid research on "Contentious Walls: The Cultural Politics of Social Movement Street Art in Southern Mexico," supervised by Dr. Lynn Stephen. In 2014 Dr. Magana received an Engaged Anthropology Grant to aid engaged activities on "Youth Activism, Anthropology, and Community Building in Oaxaca, Mexico".

AAUThe department of social anthropology at Addis Ababa University of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia is the latest recipient of the Wenner-Gren Foundation’s Institutional Development Grant program. This renewable grant will support the continued development of an undergraduate and graduate program in anthropology. To learn more about AAU, anthropology in Ethiopia, and the award, we spoke to Dr. Adugna Tufa Fekadu.
