"Writing Grant Proposals for Anthropological Research" was written by Dr. Sydel Silverman, President of the Wenner-Gren Foundation from 1986 to 2000. In her role as President, Dr. Silverman made funding decisions on all grant applications coming to the Foundation. The article was published in Current Anthropology in 1991 and it continues to be one of the best general discussions on how to prepare a grant proposal for anthropological research, containing invaluable advice for scholars as they prepare to apply for funding.
