The Wenner-Gren Foundation administered over twenty international symposia, sponsored conferences, and workshops in the first decade of the 21st Century, held at different sites in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Brazil, Mexico, and a variety of locations throughout the United States.
Including among the most significant of these meeting were "World Anthropologies: Disciplinary Transformations within Systems of Power," organized by Arturo Escobar and Gustavo Lins Ribeiro; "Ritual Communication," organized by Ellen Basso and Gunter Senft; and "Indigenous Experience Today," organized by Marisol de la Cadena and Orin Starn.
