Wenner-Gren Symposia in the 1970s

In the 1970s, the vast majority of Wenner-Gren symposia were held at the Burg Wartenstein Conference Center. However, several signficant meetings were also held in stateside.
Sixteen symposia (Numbers 52 through 67) were held at the Burg Wartenstein Conference Center from 1971 through 1975.
Included with this series of meetings were: "Calibration of Hominoid Evolution: Recent Advances in Isotopic and Other Dating Methods as Applicable to the Origin of Man," organized by W.W. Bishop and J.A. Miller; "Cultural and Social Influences in Infancy and Early Childhood," organized by P. Herbert Leiderman and Steven R. Tulkin; "The Behavior of the Great Apes," organized by David Hamburg and Jane Goodall; and "Progress in Molecular Anthropology" organized by Morris Goodman and Richard Tashian.
