Richard Carley Hunt

Richard Carley Hunt served as the first President of the Wenner-Gren Foundation, from its founding as the Viking Fund in 1941 until his death in 1954.

Personal lawyer to Axel Wenner-Gren and a director of Electrolux Corporation, USA (among other corporate boards), Richard C. Hunt  provided financial oversight for the Foundation's grants-making activities proposed by its Director of Research, Paul Fejos.

In commemoration of his service to the Foundation and its mission, the Richard Carley Hunt Postdoctoral Fellowship was developed to assist recently awarded doctorates with preparing their dissertations for publication and broader dissemination throughout the disicpline.
