In the Long Run

A blind woman being carried on a bicycle by her granddaughter.

Uganda has progressive legislation and many organisations, donors and projects supporting people with disabilities.

But in the long run, projects come to an end and it is the interdependence within families and neighbourhoods that sustain people.

A child or grandchild with a bicycle may be preferred over a wheelchair or a white cane.
