The Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research, Inc. is a private operating Foundation that is dedicated to the advancement of anthropology throughout the world. Through programs of funding for research projects, conferences, symposia, fellowships, and publication, the Foundation aids basic research in all branches of anthropology and closely related disciplines concerned with human origins, development and variation.
Wenner-Gren Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees. It also has an academic Advisory Council consisting of seven members, all anthropologists representing the different subfields, whose term of service is four years.

The Wenner-Gren Foundation has two major goals – to support significant and innovative anthropological research into humanity's biological and cultural origins, development and variation and to foster the creation of an international community of research scholars in anthropology.
